Then being a member of a Calvinist church is what saves us? You need to rightly divide the word of truth. Calvinism is a heretical/misguided doctrine.

Because you said so and whatever Joe p says is true just is. And that’s why you used a fake email too, right “joep”? Stupid.

    What about the Catholic Church

Try reading for once instead of asking pretentious questions with no real concern for learning.

Greetings. I’m not trying to be a jerk, just asking a question: Do you consider “the church” a group of organizations of brick and mortar, or do you consider “The Church” to be a group of believers that are world-wide (and outside of anything brick and mortar)? I have been a believer since I was 23 (I am 51 now) and I do not belong to any of the above church organizations that you called “saved.” The second question then would be: “What does that make me?” Respectfully, -Mark

It’s merely a list I found of what would fit the true stereotype of the true Church, it doesn’t mean every single member of those churches is saved or that only they are or that there aren’t say homeless disabled persons like me stuck on the outside. There is a little hint in the OT that you can be apart of the true church but astray and not fellowshipping, but that doesn’t last forever. The NT also seems to imply you can be a true Christian but not properly fellowshiping. There’s tons more true congregations it just would take forever to list them. Btw, I said “congregations” in the title for a reason, so why are you referring to “brick and mortar” when I’m talking about people? Also the word church itself doesn’t necessarily refer to the building and it’s common sense I’m not talking about buildings, so why are you? Did I mention buildings in the post?

WOW!! All I can say, after seeing this page, is that I will be praying for you!!! Praying for your salvation and to see the true light of Jesus’s word! I am so dismayed at what I see, but I, myself am not in any position to be someones judge. That is saved for God himself and his son. They will judge everyone according to their works and faith in his Son and his word. May God be with you and may you truly seek and find the true Word of God! May Jesus light your path and lead you to his righteousness, and to his glorious salvation.May his glory and love find you and you receive all that he offers you through his suffering and death, and his resurrection …..the road to salvation. That was done for your sins as well as the worlds.

I only read part of your first sentence, you’re obviously a false Christian and I am qualified to be everyone’s judge as the Bible says so and my gift is the “discerning of spirits”. You’re 100 percent false as a false Christian is always conflicted and confused as to JUDGMENT: the bible makes it obvious as does life it self that YOU MUST JUDGE RIGHT FROM WRONG, THAT INCLUDES PEOPLE in order to make moral decisions and any period, that you claim you are not qualified and shy away from it shows you are a false Christian. YOU LACK, COMMON, SENSE. I’m not reading the rest of your babble, and am removing it. As Jesus said, “Stop judging by mere appearances and make a right judgment.” Stop being a shallow judge and judging by your mere feelings, that is why you are ignorant and stupid and will always be sinful and contradictory. God bless you. And sinner, why didn’t you bother to click or appreciate the massive number of articles on the Bible I published including the permanent link to how to be saved you self righteous hypocrite? You are an evil judge is what you are, a jealous one. God bless you.

The True Church is not a denomination. It is comprised of people from all over the planet who have accepted Jesus as thuer Lord and Savior, they believe, repented and asked for forgiveness.
Belonging to this congregation or denomination does not gurantee salvation. What about all the people who lived and died 300 years or more ago, long before such denominations even existed?
Where in the world did you come up with such nonsense?

    • December 8, 2015 at 11:53 AM

I never said it was a denomination, where in the world did you read in the Bible: read words that aren’t there and shoot from the hip? Doesn’t it imply NOT to assume, but to get evidence? FURTHER: YES, THE TRUE CHURCH IS A DENOMINATION, SPECIFICALLY COMPOSED OF DIFFERENT DENOMINATIONS. PAUL HIMSELF SAID THERE WERE NECESSARY DIVISIONS AMONG THE CHURCH SO THAT IT WOULD BE SEEN WHO HAD GOD’S APPROVAL. SO YOU’RE WORLDLY WISDOM OF “THE CHURCH IS NON DENOMINATION, TOTALLY UNIFIED” IS WHAT IS NONSENSE, AND COMMON SENSE-ABSURD. So you think that if some terrorist Muslim walks into a “Non-denominational World Wide Church of God” or “We’re Just the Church” building or holds hands and sings with them, that therefore he’s now automatically part of the church? HOW STUPID CAN YOU BE TO SOMETHING SO OBVIOUSLY DUMB? AND YOU’RE DENYING BY YOUR GRAMMAR, SO YOU CANNOT SAY “OH THAT’S NOT WHAT I MEANT”, YOU ARE DENYING THAT PRESBYTERIANS AND BAPTISTS MERELY BECAUSE OF THEIR LABEL, THEIR DESCRIPTION (YOU HAVE A LABEL BIAS, IT’S A LOGICAL FALLACY) THAT THEREFORE THEY AREN’T CHRISTIANS REALLY. HOW ULTRA MASSIVELY WICKEDLY STUPID TO EVEN IMPLY! Do you hate that milk is called “milk” and that another is “low fat milk?” HOW DARE THEY BE DISTINGUISHED! THE MILK MUST BE UNIFIED AND SIMPLY CALLED, UM, UM, WHAT’S YOUR HEART FEELING ON THAT WHAT STEFAN? OH YOUR HEART WHICH IS GOD DECLARES IT SHALL BE CALLED “WHITE STUFF”! Do you hate that THE CHURCH or a church is called “Christian” as opposed to “Generic Gathering” or… OR WHAT GENIUS? IT’S COMMON SENSE LABELING IS HELPFUL, AND I’M ARGUING BASIC BABY STUFF ON THAT, YOU’RE NOT EVEN ON SQUARE ONE, THIS IS A WASTE OF TIME NEARLY TALKING TO PEOPLE LIKE YOU BECAUSE YOU THINK YOU KNOW SOMETHING BUT YOU ARE AIR-HEADED KNOW-IT-ALLS. Stop feeding of your feelings and opinions and try and look outside your bubble Mr. My Advice Counts Only, Whatever You Have to Say Is Nonsense. You’re a fool.

The churches you mentioned are different denominations. My keyboard auto-corrected one mispelled word and you slam me for my grammer? Grammer and spelling happen to be two different things. But wow, you have some serious anger issues bro. Why do you feel it necessary to call me and others names? Where is the Love of Jesus in your postings and replies?

To be part of the “True Church,” requires being part of the body of Christ. Simply attending any given denomination is not going to save your Spirit and Soul; only by believing in Jesus as our heavenly Father’s only begotten Son, repenting, and asking Jesus to forgive and save you is the only way.

    I Will Build My Church
—Christ the Founder of the church

Jesus told Peter, “I will build my church” (Matthew 16:18). Soon after he died and arose from the dead, he did exactly that —He built his church, and he has been building it ever since.

We introduce the series Search for the True Church by briefly looking at the statement of Jesus, “I will build my church”.

    1 “I”

“I” marks the Lordship of Christ The first word of the statement is “I”. This marks the Lordship of Christ. Nobody else is in a position to say what follows this”I”.

Jesus is the only rightful founder and head of the church, not you or me or someone else no matter how eminent. It’s the same “I” as in “I am the way the truth and the life” (John 14:6). Who else can say that?

    2 “Will”

“Will” marks the authority of ChristWhen Jesus says “will”, he expresses his authority (Matthew 28:18). His will is supreme except for the will of his Father.

Again I shall speak somewhat harshly, yet I hope appropriately. It is surprising how many believers in Christ proceed according to what pleases them, without bothering to ask if it pleases Christ and seeking their Master’s authority. We have his authority to build nothing in his name, save that which he would build. When was it ever his will to build a denomination? Whatever is not according to his will is contrary to it.

    3 “Build”

“Build” marks the work of Christ When Jesus says “build”, he expresses his work. “My food is to do the will of the one who sent me to finish his work… My Father is at work until now, so I am at work” (John 4:34, John 5:17).

Promoting a denomination is not the work of Christ. Only in building the church Christ died for are we doing Christ’s work. In building a denomination, we are working for somebody else and doing somebody else’s work, not the Lord’s.

    4 “My”

“My” marks Christ’s possession of the church When Jesus says “my” he indicates to whom the church belongs.

Only his blood purchased the church of God, nobody else’s. The only church worth belonging to is “the church of God which he purchased with his own blood” (Acts 20:28).
The church’s one foundation is Jesus Christ her Lord. “No man can lay a foundation other than the one that has been laid, which is Jesus Christ” (1Corinthians 3:11).
Only he is the chief corner stone, no one else. The church is “built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone” (Ephesians 2:20).
The church is his bride whom he loves. She belongs to no other. “Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her” (Ephesians 5:25-27).
Christ does not possess any denomination.
    5 “Church”

“Church” marks Christ’s call When Jesus says “church”, he expresses his call to the world. Jesus calls everyone into his one true church the “called out” people εκκλησια (ekklesia). Jesus calls nobody into any denomination. .

“[God] has saved us, and called us with a holy calling…” (2Timothy 1:9). That’s the only way we are made into a true church. Christ never called anyone into a denomination.

In every word of the statement “I will build my church” we are brought to the realization that Christ’s church is what we should be restoring and establishing in the world.

We should not replace it with anything else nor join ourselves to a “church” that someone else has founded. Let’s work together in going back to the one true church of Christ. No other “church” will do.
